Mixed and Girls Football Returns!

24th Oct 2023

Over the past few weeks our Mixed and Girls teams have been competing in the Division 1 league. We are delighted to be back and here are some of our results so far.

Mixed Results

This year, our school, Fermoyle N.S, is once again in the Division 1 League. So far, we have played three matches.

We played away Clonguish in the first match of the year. We started the first half well, scoring lots. The second half was a challenge. We finished our first game with a loss.

Our second match was at home against Killoe. We played very well and we were up at half time. Killoe really brought the pressure in the second half. The match ended in a draw.

Our third match we played was against Drumlish. We played brilliantly in both halves, and we had some excellent play and some fabulous scores. We got our first win of the year.

Our final match of the league was an away match against Ardagh, this was a great contest of football and our mixed team came out on top with our second win.

Girls Results

GIRLS FERMOYLE LEAGUE MATCHES REPORT

This year the girls Fermoyle N.S team are in division 2 league. The team is made up of 3rd to 6th class students. So far we have played 4 matches.

Our first match was against Ardagh. Unfortunately we lost this match by 2 points. We started off the match strong and stayed that way the whole way through. But unfortunately at the end of the match they got a goal.

The second match was against Killoe. Sadly we lost this match too. The weather conditions weren’t good it was wet and windy so the ball was slippy and hard to catch.

Our third match was against Drumlish. We lost this match as well. It was a very tight and exciting match. We scored loads, but sadly lost by a point.

Our most recent match was against Melview. We excitingly won this match. This was our first win of the year. Once again the weather was wet and windy, but we fought through it and stayed strong.
