1km a Day – A Wonderful Start to Our School Mornings 🏃♂️
Over the past two months, the children in Fermoyle National School have taken part in a fantastic 1km a day morning run, and it has been an incredibly positive experience for everyone involved.
Each morning, the children head out together to complete their kilometre, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and determination to start the day. It has been wonderful to see the progress the children have made, not only in their fitness and stamina but also in their confidence and perseverance. Many of the children who found the run challenging at the beginning are now completing it with ease and pride.
One of the most special aspects of this initiative has been the connections built between the classes. Running together has created opportunities for older and younger pupils to encourage one another, chat along the way, and share in the achievement each morning. The sense of teamwork and support has been lovely to see.
The daily run has also brought a great spirit and energy to our school mornings. The children return to class refreshed, focused, and ready for the day ahead. There is a real sense of excitement and positivity surrounding the challenge.
We have just a few more mornings left to complete before we take a well-earned break. However, the challenge isn’t over for long – we look forward to taking it on again after Easter and continuing the great momentum the children have built.
Well done to all of our pupils for their fantastic effort and positive attitude. We are very proud of you all! 👏💚
