Our Active Schools Week was completed on Friday and we would like to say well done to all pupils and teachers for their effort and participation throughout the week.

Each morning the children participated in a Go Noodle Wake up exercise routine to start off the day. The ‘Mile A Day Challenge’ was completed by each class through running, walking and skipping.

On Wednesday we had Eoin Devine O’Grady, Games Development Administrator Longford GAA visit the school and take each class for various sessions.

Stations were placed throughout the school yard to encourage the children to take on various exercises and challenges. Although the weather was not favourable during the week, it did not stop the fitness fanantics!

Active homework was provided  the kids throughout the week.

Our school girls competed in the Division 3 final on Thursday in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park. Although they were defeated narrowly by Balinalee NS, our girls put in a super performance and one that they should be proud of. They have had a great year and we all look forward to seeing these girls in action for the years to come. Well Done!

On Friday we wrapped up ASW. Junior and Senior Infants participated in a mini obstacle course. The children enjoyed various playground games and free play throughout the afternoon.

Our School participated in the Longford Primary Schools Relay Races, in Newtownforbes and we had a very successful evening. 17 kids took part in the races and achieved the following results:
3rd in 2nd class boys relay

1st in 3rd class boys relay

3rd in sub race 3rd class boys

2nd in 5th class sub race boys

1st in 6th class sub race boys

A huge thank you to the parents involved in preparing the children for this event. Well done to all!
