HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our Boys on reaching the 2019 SPAR FAI Primary School 5s North Leinster Finals which will take place on May 2nd in the MDL Grounds, Navan, Co. Meath.

PLEASE NOTE that there will be strict guidelines in place that must be observed at all times. I have outlined the following terms below:

SUPPORT

Support is welcome on the day and schools are permitted to bring spectators to the event. All U18s must be supervised by parents/teachers and it is the schools responsibility to ensure the safety and welfare of their supporters. Spectators will be permitted to stand outside the pitch permitted only and the 8 players in the squad and 2 teachers are allowed onto the playing area.

REGISTRATION 

We require one teacher to register the squad on arrival, squads must be in the venue no later than 10.45am. Registration forms must be completed prior to games kicking off. Please note players must be born on or after the 1st of January 2006 and you make may changes to your squad from your County events but please note that only the 8 players on the list you give to us at registration will be permitted to tog out and take part during the day.

DRESSING ROOMS

The other teacher can accompany the squad to the dressing room areas. Dressing rooms areas will be assigned to each school so you will be advised of this on arrival but please note that you will be sharing dressing rooms so no valuables should be left in the dressing rooms and we encourage schools to bring their belongs to their pitch with them.

FIXTURES/RULES

I have attached a copy of the fixtures and the rules. Please read these carefully so there is no confusion on the day and there will be a rules briefing for all players and teachers at 11am.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Official team photographs will be taken throughout the day so please ensure that you have parental permission for your players to be photographed. If there are any issues please make this clear at registration.

PLAYING KIT

A full kit (jersey, socks and shorts) should be worn by all teams, please ensure that the number the player is wearing corresponds with the number you have submitted on the registration list.

REFRESHMENTS

Tea/coffee, minerals and snacks will be available to purchase in the clubhouse throughout the day.

MATCH FORMAT/STRUCTURE

Please note, there will be 6 pitches in operation throughout the day. Each section will use two pitches and all teams will have equal rest time throughout the day. Each team will have 3 games and games will be 10 minutes per half with a strict 2 minute half time.

Games must kick off at the scheduled time and please arrive early so we can stay on schedule. The competition is a blitz format so there is no final, 3 points shall be awarded for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a loss. The team who wins the group will be deemed North Leinster champions and will progress to the Leinster Finals in the MDL Grounds, Navan, Co. Meath on May 16th. 

EQUIPMENT 

Matches will be played on grass or all-weather so please bring appropriate footwear for both. Shinguards are compulsory and players who do not have shinguards will not be permitted to take part. Players are not permitted to wear glasses, sports goggles may be worn.

MATCH OFFICIALS

FAI match officials will be appointed for all games.

PRESENTATION/FINISH TIME

Please note that the winning school and runner-up in each section will be required to stay for the presentation directly after the final set of games. The presentation will start no later than 2pm and the winning teams will be free to leave by 2:30pm latest.
